STA Jets has agreed to acquire International Jet, expanding its private aviation operations into the Rocky Mountain region and adding a long-established base at Centennial Airport near Denver.
International Jet has served private aviation customers since 1979 and brings charter, aircraft management, maintenance, and other aviation services to STA Jets’ growing network.
The company was founded in Long Beach, California, in 1979 before relocating to Denver the following year. It became the first charter operator at Centennial Airport in 1980 and has remained one of the airport’s longest-tenured aviation businesses.
International Jet has evolved from cargo and specialty flying into a full-service passenger charter operator. Over the past 25 years, the company has also flown more than 10,000 medical transport missions.
Its current fleet spans turboprops, light jets, midsize aircraft, super-midsize aircraft, and large-cabin jets. International Jet operates a private passenger terminal at Centennial Airport, maintains flight coordinators on duty around the clock, operates under FAA Part 135 standards, and has earned the industry’s Diamond Award of Excellence through its maintenance program.
For STA Jets, the acquisition adds a significant Rocky Mountain presence while broadening geographic reach, fleet capacity, and service capabilities. STA Jets already has operations based in Van Nuys, San Jose, New York, and Fort Lauderdale and is headquartered at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana, California.
The combination is part of STA Jets’ strategy of building a larger private aviation network through acquisitions while maintaining local teams, customer relationships, and operating expertise.
International Jet’s longstanding presence at Centennial Airport also gives STA Jets a new regional hub in a market connecting Western and central U.S. destinations.
