Standard Fleet, a company focused on modernizing fleet management for connected vehicles, has secured $13 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Nova Threshold and included participation from WEX Venture Capital, SNR, and several well-known investors in the mobility and energy sectors. This funding will enable Standard Fleet to scale its platform and expand access to its Digital Key product, which allows fleet operators to manage vehicle access without the need for physical hardware.
Most new vehicles today come equipped with built-in connectivity, but many fleet management systems still rely on external devices and manual processes. Standard Fleet addresses this gap by connecting directly to vehicles from over 30 automakers, including electric, hybrid, and internal combustion models. The platform collects over 1,000 data points per vehicle and integrates telematics, digital key access, and payment automation into a single system. This allows operators to manage rentals, rideshare fleets, insurance vehicles, and service fleets more efficiently.
One of the standout features of Standard Fleet’s platform is its Digital Key, which enables secure, remote vehicle access in under a minute. Fleet managers can issue or revoke access through a secure link, even in areas without cell service or WiFi. The system supports role-based permissions and includes full audit trails for accountability. It has already powered over 75,000 trips for electric vehicle fleets and is now available for mixed fleets as well.
For fleets that still use traditional hardware, especially vehicles built before 2018, Standard Fleet offers integration with third-party telematics providers. This flexibility allows operators to transition smoothly to a more connected and automated system.
Along with access control, the platform automates payments for services like EV charging, tolls, and rental extensions. It also enables daily payouts and can revoke access instantly if payments are missed, helping fleet operators maintain control and reduce administrative overhead.
