Star Mountain Capital has appointed Adam Fitzner as Managing Director and Strategic Portfolio Partner, adding a private equity and operational value creation executive with more than 30 years of experience to its approximately $5 billion AUM lower-middle-market investment platform.
Fitzner will work with Star Mountain and its portfolio companies to strengthen operating performance and support value creation.
His experience spans private equity investing, board leadership, restructuring and operational improvement across more than 60 businesses in growth, transformation and complex situations.
Fitzner has worked across industrial, business services, consumer, financial and technology-enabled businesses, with particular experience involving founder-, entrepreneur- and family-owned lower-middle-market companies.
Over his career, he has raised or invested more than $3 billion of new capital and restructured more than $5 billion of debt.
Before joining Star Mountain, Fitzner spent a combined 14 years at Hamilton Robinson Capital Partners and Corinthian Capital Group, where he sourced, executed and managed control private equity investments and strategic acquisitions.
His responsibilities included serving on investment committees and portfolio company boards and implementing value creation initiatives involving culture, leadership, strategic planning, commercial growth, operational improvement, digital transformation, financial management and acquisition integration.
Earlier, Fitzner spent approximately 12 years advising companies, boards, private equity sponsors and creditors at Evercore, Miller Buckfire, Houlihan Lokey and Phoenix Management. His work included operational turnarounds, restructurings, financings and M&A.
Star Mountain has completed more than 100 direct platform investments and 50 secondary and fund investments in the North American lower-middle market since 2010.
