Stark Power: Sagebrush Infrastructure Acquisition Adds 5.6 GW U.S. Data Center Pipeline

Stark Power announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Sagebrush Infrastructure Partners, a developer of hyperscale data centers and co-located natural gas-fired power plants. The transaction advances Stark Power’s strategy of addressing the growing “time-to-power” requirements of hyperscale data center operators by securing infrastructure assets across the Central United States.

Sagebrush’s portfolio includes five hyperscale data center campuses currently under development with an aggregate IT capacity of approximately 5.6 GW. To support these facilities, the company is simultaneously developing co-located natural gas-fired power plants intended to provide dedicated and reliable electricity while easing pressure on regional power grids.

The portfolio is anchored by Sagebrush 1, an advanced-stage project positioned next to utility-scale power infrastructure already under construction. The project is expected to support more than 1.5 GW of IT capacity through phased development.

As part of the acquisition, Stark Power will add Sagebrush founders Todd Cater, Timothy Dertzbaugh and Michael Whalen to its platform. The team previously developed and monetized 4.2 GW of energy projects and brings expertise in site origination, grid interconnections and co-located power development. Stark Power itself was founded by industry veterans with experience at Enlight Renewable Energy and Nofar Energy.

To support the SAGE portfolio and broader U.S. expansion plans, Stark Power recently secured approximately NIS 430 million, equivalent to roughly $140 million assuming full exercise of related securities, from leading Israeli institutional investors. The capital is expected to fund the advancement of the acquired assets and support additional opportunities in U.S. power and data center infrastructure.

The company said it intends to continue pursuing further acquisitions and investments aimed at serving the growing infrastructure demands of the world’s largest hyperscale customers.
