STARK announced that it has secured €500 million to expand European defense capabilities.

The funding includes continued support from Sequoia Capital, Founders Fund, and the NATO Innovation Fund, which have doubled down on their commitment to the company.

Additional backers include Project A, Air Street Capital, 201 Ventures, Advent, and Döpfner Capital.

STARK said the capital will be invested in Europe as the company expands its research and development efforts, builds new electronic warfare capabilities, and increases manufacturing capacity.

The company said the funding will also support hiring and talent development, which it described as essential for turning ideas into deliverable defense systems.

The financing comes as European countries continue to prioritize defense readiness, industrial resilience, and domestic production capacity amid a changing security environment.

STARK’s focus on electronic warfare and defense manufacturing reflects the growing need for advanced systems that can be developed, produced, and deployed at scale within Europe.

The company said it plans to use the new capital to strengthen its ability to move from concept to production, helping close the gap between defense innovation and field-ready capability.

STARK also emphasized that building defense capability is a broader industrial effort.

The company said it will continue working with hundreds of smaller companies, specialist suppliers, and manufacturing partners that support its operations and supply chain.

By expanding its partnerships across the European defense ecosystem, STARK aims to support a stronger industrial base while increasing the region’s ability to produce advanced defense technologies.

The company said Europe’s defense strength depends not only on large contractors, but also on the network of suppliers, engineering teams, manufacturers, and specialized technology companies that contribute to deliverable systems.

The funding is expected to help STARK accelerate development across key areas of defense technology while scaling the manufacturing infrastructure needed to support demand.

It also positions the company to play a larger role in Europe’s defense modernization efforts, particularly as governments and institutions look to strengthen regional production, reduce reliance on external supply chains, and invest in emerging defense technologies.

STARK said the financing marks the next chapter in its effort to build European defense capability through research, manufacturing, talent, and industrial collaboration.

KEY QUOTES:

“So, what do we plan to do with it? Spend it on Europe. On research and development, on new electronic warfare capabilities and on manufacturing capacity. Most crucially, on the talent that turns ideas into deliverable systems.”

“It also means doubling down on the hundreds of smaller companies, specialist suppliers and manufacturing partners we work with every day. Building defence capability is a team effort, and Europe’s strength comes from its industrial base as a whole.”
