Starlight Investments has closed its second U.K. build-to-rent fund, with Fund II and associated investment vehicles securing £680 million in total capital commitments to support the acquisition and development of more than 6,000 rental homes across the country.
The fund has already begun deploying capital and includes three major rental communities currently under construction: two in Manchester and one in Basildon.
The close represents another expansion of Starlight’s U.K. residential platform and attracted institutional investors from Europe, Asia-Pacific and Canada, including both returning limited partners and new investors.
Homes England’s National Housing Bank also made a significant commitment to the fund earlier in 2026, aligning the investment strategy with broader efforts to increase rental housing supply.
Starlight’s U.K. platform currently includes 12 build-to-rent communities at various stages ranging from development through active leasing and operations. The firm is focusing on regional cities and London commuter markets where rental supply remains constrained.
Management expects the expanding portfolio to place Starlight among the four largest U.K. build-to-rent operators by scale.
Starlight Investments manages approximately CAD $30 billion in assets and owns, develops or manages more than 70,000 multifamily units and over 7 million square feet of commercial property.
