State Street Corporation announced the election of Alexander Vollert to its Board of Directors, adding an executive with more than two decades of leadership experience across global financial services, technology, operations, and large-scale transformation.
Vollert most recently served as Group Chief Operating Officer of AXA and CEO of AXA Group Operations. In those roles, he led approximately 10,000 employees across 18 countries and oversaw areas including data and artificial intelligence, IT strategy and delivery, operations, procurement, and security. He previously served as CEO of AXA Germany and held senior leadership positions at Allianz, including CEO of its German property and casualty business.
Earlier in his career, Vollert worked at McKinsey & Company, advising financial services clients, including asset managers, on strategy and transformation. He holds a PhD and master’s degree from the University of Karlsruhe in Germany and also serves as an independent director on Guidewire’s board and on the management board of QuantCo.
Vollert will serve on State Street’s Board Technology and Operations Committee and Risk Committee. His appointment adds extensive international operating, technology, AI, and financial services experience to the board as State Street continues expanding the use of technology across its business.
