Steelcase has appointed Irene Tasi as President, bringing an executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience to the workplace furnishings and design company.
Tasi will lead the Steelcase business and report to Jeff Lorenger, Chairman, President and CEO of HNI Corporation.
Her experience includes full profit-and-loss responsibility, enterprise strategy, innovation, commercial execution, sales and channel leadership, portfolio development and organizational transformation.
Tasi joins Steelcase from PPG Industries, where she held several senior executive positions.
Her roles at PPG included Chief Growth Officer, Senior Vice President of Global Industrial Coatings and, most recently, Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer.
Before joining PPG, Tasi spent more than 20 years at Masco Corporation.
Her responsibilities there included leadership positions across channel marketing, customer experience, sales and general management.
She also served as President and General Manager of Kichler Lighting.
As Steelcase President, Tasi will focus on strengthening relationships with customers and dealers, translating the company’s research and design capabilities into commercial growth and helping teams execute against strategic priorities.
She holds an MBA from Eastern Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Windsor.
Steelcase employs approximately 11,300 people and works with more than 25 creative and technology partner brands.
Its products and services are distributed through a global dealer network of approximately 790 locations and serve office, learning and healthcare environments.
