Sterling Infrastructure announced the acquisition of Stone Ridge Contracting, a Pocatello, Idaho-based site development contractor. Following the transaction, Stone Ridge will become part of Sterling’s E-Infrastructure Solutions segment.
Stone Ridge provides heavy civil, concrete, and construction management services across sectors including data centers, mining, and industrial infrastructure. The acquisition expands Sterling’s geographic presence in the Pacific Northwest and Texas, two regions the company has identified as priorities for strategic growth. Stone Ridge serves customers across Idaho, Oregon, North Dakota, Washington, and Texas.
Stone Ridge is expected to generate between $180 million and $200 million in revenue during 2026 and produce EBITDA margins in the mid-teens. Sterling said it plans to update its full-year 2026 guidance when it reports second-quarter results to reflect the company’s partial-year contribution.
According to Sterling, the purchase price multiple was consistent with the company’s historical approach to acquiring site development businesses. The upfront consideration included a combination of cash and Sterling common stock. Stone Ridge also has the opportunity to receive earnout payments based on achieving certain EBITDA targets by the end of 2031.
Sterling said the transaction will strengthen its ability to serve existing customers across a wider geographic footprint while adding new customer relationships and end markets. The company also sees opportunities to accelerate growth and improve margins by leveraging Sterling’s platform and financial resources.
Sterling Infrastructure operates through subsidiaries across three segments: E-Infrastructure Solutions, Transportation Solutions, and Building Solutions. Its E-Infrastructure business provides large-scale site development and mission-critical electrical services supporting industries including data centers, semiconductor manufacturing, distribution centers, warehousing, and power generation.
