Sterlington has added Kevin Collins as a partner in its Litigation practice following his role as lead counsel in securing an $80 million wildfire-related settlement for a California public entity.
Collins joins from Buchalter, where he was a partner and leader of the firm’s Wildfire Litigation Team.
Most recently, he led the team representing Placer County Water Agency in claims arising from the 2022 Mosquito Fire. The matter resulted in an $80 million settlement with Pacific Gas and Electric Company related to operational disruption and infrastructure damage affecting the Middle Fork American River Hydroelectric Project.
Collins has also represented Solano County landowners in a $510 million antitrust lawsuit against the developers behind California Forever, which was resolved on favorable terms, and defended a global LCD panel manufacturer in the TFT-LCD antitrust multidistrict litigation.
His broader practice covers trade-secret misappropriation, unfair competition, antitrust, class actions, real estate, construction, land use and mass torts.
Collins regularly serves as lead counsel in multiparty disputes and has experience coordinating litigation across parallel proceedings and handling complex federal receiverships.
His clients have included Fortune 500 companies, high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, public agencies and closely held businesses.
