Stonegate Capital has appointed Peter Warnes as Chief Investment Officer, bringing more than 30 years of global capital markets experience across institutional investing, family offices, and private wealth management. Warnes will oversee the firm’s investment strategy, asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk management, manager selection, and investment due diligence across public and private markets.
Warnes developed much of his investment career at J.P. Morgan Asset Management in London and Hong Kong, gaining experience managing institutional and private client investment strategies across international markets.
He subsequently served as Head of Multi Asset Solutions, International, at Manulife Investment Management and held the positions of Chief Investment Officer and Interim CEO at BOS Wealth Management Malaysia.
Throughout his career, Warnes has worked across major financial markets, including London, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, the United Arab Emirates, Boston, and Singapore.
At Stonegate, a central component of his responsibilities will involve integrating artificial intelligence into the firm’s investment processes.
The firm intends to use AI to enhance investment research, due diligence, portfolio analysis, and decision-making while maintaining human oversight and accountability.
Warnes’ appointment supports Stonegate’s strategy of combining institutional investment management capabilities with entrepreneurial thinking and AI-enabled technology to expand its family office platform.
