Stord Acquires AMS Fulfillment To Expand Logistics Network And AI-Powered Fulfillment Platform

Stord has acquired AMS Fulfillment in its largest acquisition to date, expanding its logistics network with more than 1 million square feet of additional capacity across major U.S. markets and adding more than 10 million annual orders to its platform.

AMS Fulfillment provides third-party logistics services for premium beauty, wellness, apparel, footwear, accessories, and high-velocity direct-to-consumer brands. The transaction adds facilities in the Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, and Philadelphia metropolitan areas and expands Stord’s global network to more than 100 locations.

The acquisition comes during a period of rapid expansion for Stord. The company secured a $400 million credit facility led by Citi in October, following a $250 million Series F financing round in May that valued Stord at $3 billion.

With the Series F, Stord also launched Stord Labs, a dedicated robotics deployment arm and data foundry. The company is using its capital to expand its fulfillment footprint in the U.S. and internationally while increasing investments in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence.

Stord said its business has grown tenfold over the past four years. The company processes more than $15 billion in gross merchandise value annually for more than 1,000 brands, and its packages reach approximately one in four U.S. households each year.

Stord’s fulfillment network generates more than 8 billion data points annually, which the company uses to improve AI-driven and automated logistics operations.

AMS brings more than two decades of experience in outsourced fulfillment and white-glove commerce services. Select AMS facilities already use automated put walls and sortation systems, giving Stord additional automated capacity as it expands the robotics and AI technologies developed through Stord Labs.

Over time, AMS customers are expected to gain access to Stord’s broader fulfillment network, parcel program, AI capabilities, and vertically integrated technology platform. Stord said the combination should enable brands to improve delivery speed, reliability, and cost efficiency while maintaining customized fulfillment experiences.

The acquisition is Stord’s twelfth and continues a network expansion strategy that has included the acquisitions of Shipwire from CMA CGM, Ware2Go from UPS, and Pitney Bowes’ e-commerce fulfillment business.

Stord positions its platform as the physical intelligence layer for independent commerce, combining fulfillment infrastructure, commerce software, AI, and applied robotics to help brands manage the customer experience from checkout through delivery and returns.

The AMS transaction further increases Stord’s scale ahead of peak shipping season while adding customers and infrastructure that can benefit from its ongoing automation investments.
