Stout Acquires Flightline To Advance AI Strategy

Stout has acquired Flightline, an agentic AI company that has worked with the global advisory firm for more than 12 months to develop AI-enabled workflows for complex professional services engagements.

The acquisition brings Flightline’s technology and AI engineering expertise directly into Stout as the firm develops an AI-enabled workbench designed around how its professionals conduct research, analyze information, and advise clients.

Stout and Flightline have already tested the technology in active client workflows, giving both teams practical experience using agentic AI in professional services environments. The companies have focused on structuring complex work into workflows that can support research, analysis, and the development of evidence-backed conclusions while keeping Stout professionals responsible for directing the work and the advice ultimately delivered to clients.

Stout said the broader objective is to use AI to increase the amount of information teams can analyze, accelerate the identification of relevant insights, and create more capacity for professionals to focus on areas requiring experience, judgment, and direct client interaction.

Commercial diligence has been one of the early proving grounds for Flightline’s technology. Stout Strategy has completed more than 1,000 buy-side diligence engagements, and the firm is using lessons from those workflows to inform the development of a broader AI-enabled platform that can support additional advisory use cases over time.

Flightline’s technology is designed to allow professionals and AI agents to work together through structured processes rather than relying on isolated AI tools. Stout plans to use the acquisition to create tighter feedback loops between its practitioners and technology teams, allowing new AI capabilities to be shaped by the requirements of real client engagements.

The transaction also builds on Stout’s broader investment in artificial intelligence and technology-enabled workflows. The firm sees AI as a way to improve both the speed and depth of analysis while maintaining human oversight, accountability, and professional judgment.

Flightline’s technology and team will now operate within Stout as the firm continues expanding applications for agentic AI across its financial, operational, and strategic advisory work.
