  • Sudshare announced it has raised $10 million in a seed round of funding. These are the details.

Sudshare — a company that is known as the ‘Uber for laundry’ – recently announced it raised $10 million in seed funding. The company currently has 70,000 gig workers that are doing laundry through the app. And the company recently announced it raised $10 million in funding to build out the laundry service.

The seed funding round included investors like Headline and Cameo CEO along with an Instacart co-founder. Sudshare’s CEO Mort Fertel said that the company has 80,000 customers and it is profitable. And the company is planning to use the capital for expanding beyond its current availability of 400 cities in the U.S.

Through the Sudshare app, users are able to set up a time for a worker to come to their house and pick up the laundry. And then that worker will do the laundry, fold it, package it, and then drop it off the next day.

Fertel came up with the idea for the company as his wife was tired of doing the laundry for their 7 family members. And then one of their kids built the app and then they started bringing on workers and customers after. Prior to running Sudshare, Fertel spent over 2 decades running a marriage counseling service.

Sudshare is going to use the new funding round to ramp up marketing and hire more talent.
