Sullivan & Cromwell has recruited four private equity M&A partners, Hamed Meshki, Luke Guerra, Guirgis Nasief and Y. Michael Chung, as the firm accelerates the expansion of its U.S. and global private equity practice.
The four lawyers collectively bring nearly six decades of experience advising private equity clients and have worked on hundreds of transactions involving major private equity and asset management firms.
Meshki will lead Sullivan & Cromwell’s global Private Equity Practice and co-lead its Los Angeles office with Patrick Brown.
Meshki advises private equity firms, asset managers and corporations on M&A, leveraged buyouts, restructurings, recapitalizations and financings across sectors including healthcare, energy, industrials, consumer products, software, technology, media and transportation.
Guerra advises sponsors, strategic buyers, sellers and portfolio companies on domestic and cross-border buyouts, M&A, joint ventures, equity investments and restructurings.
Nasief will be based in Los Angeles and focuses on private equity acquisitions, dispositions and other significant portfolio-company investments. Chung will join Sullivan & Cromwell’s New York office and advises private equity firms and public and private companies on strategic transactions.
The hires follow Sullivan & Cromwell’s recent private equity expansion in London and deepen its sponsor capabilities in the United States, particularly in Los Angeles.
Sullivan & Cromwell’s private equity practice works with sponsors and private capital investors including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and family offices across acquisitions, investments, financings, dispositions and exits.
