Summize Acquires InnoLaw Group Talent And Assets

By Amit Chowdhry • Jun 17, 2026

Summize, a leader in AI-powered contract intelligence for mid-market companies, announced it has acquired key personnel and proprietary assets from InnoLaw Group, a niche contract lifecycle management consultancy focused on helping legal teams deploy and optimize technology at scale. The deal expands Summize’s ability to support complex, enterprise-grade CLM implementations for its growing global customer base.

The acquisition comes as demand for AI-powered contracting solutions continues to accelerate. While legal teams are increasingly adopting AI tools to improve contract review, drafting, negotiation, and management, successful implementation often depends on deployment expertise, faster rollout, and strong change management. By bringing InnoLaw Group’s team into its implementation organization, Summize is expanding its bench of legal operations and CLM specialists to strengthen its white-glove customer offering.

InnoLaw Group has worked with in-house legal teams on streamlining contracting processes and deploying legal technology across enterprise environments. Its legal operations experts bring practical knowledge of the challenges legal departments face when rolling out contracting technology across an organization.

Summize said the added expertise will help it support larger and more complex customer projects as it continues expanding across global markets and multiple industry sectors. The company’s AI-powered CLM platform is designed to embed contract intelligence into tools businesses already use, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, and Salesforce.

The company noted that traditional CLM projects can take months or longer to deliver value. Summize said customers can go live in as little as four weeks by embedding contracting workflows into familiar business tools, helping legal, procurement, sales, and broader business teams adopt the technology more quickly.

As part of the transaction, Lara Trope, Chief Client Officer at InnoLaw, will join Summize and lead the implementation function. Lucy Bassli, founder and CEO of InnoLaw Group, will not join Summize and will instead continue focusing on thought leadership and expert content development. Bassli will also continue serving as an independent advisor to legal tech startups and executives.

Existing InnoLaw client engagements will be completed through the most effective arrangements with either InnoLaw Group, Summize, or transitioned to a trusted InnoLaw Group partner by mutual agreement. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

KEY QUOTES:

“The InnoLaw team is highly respected across the legal industry because they understand the realities of in-house legal work what it actually takes to make CLM successful and useful. Bringing the InnoLaw team and the vast amount of knowledge and associated content in house is a significant step for Summize. Their depth of experience in CLM implementation and adoption is exceptional, and their focus on genuine customer value mirrors our own. As we welcome more global customers of different sizes from multiple industry sectors, having this level of operational expertise in-house means we can guarantee the kind of value and outcomes our customers expect from AI contract intelligence.”

Tom Dunlop, CEO and co-founder of Summize

“We’ve worked with in-house teams for years and have seen where traditional CLM platforms struggle with lengthy onboarding, low usage and experiences that fail to match how people actually work. Summize represents where the market is heading; its focus on outcomes, speed to value and practical adoption is what makes it different. Having worked alongside the Summize team on several projects, the cultural fit was obvious, and we’re aligned on our obsession with customer value and outcomes. I’m excited to lead the implementation function and to hit the ground running with new and existing clients.”

Lara Trope, Chief Client Officer at InnoLaw

“This transition was something I thought about carefully and designed with intention. The InnoLaw team is joining Summize at exactly the right moment, when legal tech is finally catching up with what in-house teams actually need. What stands out about Summize is its commitment to genuine customer outcomes, not just deployment metrics. My ILG team had a very high bar for culture, product, and direction, which Summize definitely met. I’m proud of what we built at InnoLaw, and I’m excited to watch this next chapter unfold while I focus on the broader conversations happening across our industry.”
