Sun Auto Tire & Service announced that it has expanded its Midwest footprint through the acquisition of Main Street Tire & Auto in Virden, Illinois. The location has officially joined the Sun Auto Network and will operate under the Plaza Tire Service brand.
The acquisition marks the 16th Illinois location for the company and the 90th Plaza Tire Service location overall, strengthening the network’s regional presence and service coverage throughout the Midwest.
Main Street Tire & Auto will continue serving the Virden community while benefiting from the operational resources, technology infrastructure and customer service systems provided by the Sun Auto Network. The location will offer a full suite of automotive services, including tire sales, alignments, brake repairs, oil changes, battery replacement, diagnostics and preventative maintenance.
Plaza Tire Service has operated in the Midwest for more than 60 years and is known for its “Quick Change Artist” branding. The integration of the Virden location further expands Plaza Tire Service’s Illinois presence.

Sun Auto Tire & Service currently owns and operates more than 575 tire and automotive service centers across the United States through the Sun Auto Network. The company said it continues investing in technology, training and operational support to improve customer experiences and support local communities.
