Suominen has appointed Eevaleena Mäki-Uuro as Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer and Anni Luoma as Chief Legal Officer as the Finnish nonwovens manufacturer strengthens its leadership team around strategy execution and business transformation.
Both appointments became effective September 17, 2026, and both executives have joined the Suominen Leadership Team.
Mäki-Uuro previously served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Excellence and Strategic Projects at Suominen.
In her new role, she will report directly to President and CEO Charles Héaulmé and take a broader role in driving strategic execution and transformation across the company.
Mäki-Uuro brings international experience across strategic and transformation programs in both management consulting and process industries.
Before joining Suominen, she held strategy, sustainability and business leadership positions at Huhtamäki and previously worked at Bain & Company.
Luoma has been promoted from General Counsel to Chief Legal Officer and will also report to Héaulmé.
She joined Suominen as Legal Counsel in 2022 and was promoted to General Counsel in 2024. Her previous experience includes positions at Neles, now part of Valmet, as well as Metso and Metso Outotec.
The appointments form part of Suominen’s ongoing effort to improve performance and execute its broader transformation strategy.
The company said it is developing its organizational capabilities and operating model to support strategy execution and unlock the full potential of its business.
Current Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer Marika Väkiparta has decided to leave Suominen to pursue other opportunities.
She will remain with the company until the end of October, focusing on strategic projects during the transition.
Suominen manufactures nonwoven roll goods used in wipes and other applications. The company reported €412.4 million in 2025 net sales and employs nearly 700 people across Europe and the Americas. Its shares are listed on Nasdaq Helsinki.
