Supabase has raised $150 million in new funding led by GIC, with participation from CapitalG, IronArc and SquarePeg, while also announcing the acquisition of database infrastructure company Turso.
The financing comes four months after Supabase raised a $500 million Series F as the open-source Postgres development platform continues seeing rapid growth from AI coding tools and autonomous agents.
Supabase plans to use the new financing and Turso acquisition to accelerate product development around databases designed for agent-driven workloads. A portion of the round will also provide liquidity to employees.
The company is now adding more than 1 million users and 4 million databases per month. Supabase said approximately 70% of new databases are being created by agents or AI-driven tools.
That growth follows a 600% year-over-year increase in databases reported in June, when AI agents were already responsible for deploying the majority of new databases on the platform.
Supabase said coding tools including Claude Code and Codex are expanding both the number of people capable of building software and the amount of software developers can create.
The company is positioning its backend platform as infrastructure for both human developers and AI agents, with products spanning Postgres databases, authentication, storage, edge functions, real-time subscriptions and vector search.
The Turso acquisition adds technology designed to provision large numbers of isolated databases at relatively low cost.
Turso’s architecture supports on-demand databases in the public cloud and bring-your-own-cloud environments. Its customers include Superhuman, Sauna.ai, CTO.new and Mastra.
Turso will continue operating its existing platform, with Supabase planning a path for customers to use additional services across the broader Supabase ecosystem.
Turso founder Glauber Costa will join Supabase as Head of Agentic Services. Co-founder Pekka Enberg and the rest of the Turso team will also join the company.
Supabase was founded in 2020 and says more than 13 million developers currently use its platform. Its ecosystem also includes more than 100 integrated partner tools.
