Super Micro Computer announced the appointment of Matthew Thauberger as Chief Revenue Officer, expanding the company’s executive leadership team as it looks to capitalize on growing demand for AI and IT infrastructure solutions.

In the role, Thauberger will oversee Supermicro’s global revenue organization, including direct sales, channel partnerships, hyperscale accounts, and strategic sales initiatives tied to the company’s AI and infrastructure portfolio.

Charles Liang said Thauberger’s experience and industry knowledge position him to help accelerate the company’s next phase of growth.

Liang stated that Supermicro sees significant opportunities ahead in AI and infrastructure markets and expects Thauberger to advance the company’s global sales initiatives alongside its broader leadership team.

Thauberger has served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Supermicro since April 2020. During that time, he helped lead multiple product launches, expanded the company’s Fortune 500 customer pipeline, and supported growth initiatives in cloud service provider and enterprise storage markets.

Before joining Supermicro, Thauberger served as Vice President of Sales at Burlywood and previously held the role of General Manager of U.S. Sales at Inspur Systems. Earlier in his career, he held executive leadership positions at AMAX, including Vice President of Global Sales and General Manager of EMEA Operations.

Thauberger said he is honored to assume the Chief Revenue Officer position as Supermicro enters a new growth phase driven by AI and infrastructure demand. He added that the company’s innovation capabilities, customer relationships, and international market opportunities create a strong foundation for continued expansion.

The announcement also marks the retirement of Don Clegg from his position as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Supermicro credited Clegg with helping expand global customer relationships and scale the company’s sales strategy during periods of rapid technology market evolution.

Liang thanked Clegg for his leadership and contributions to the company during his tenure and wished him well in retirement.

Founded in San Jose, California, Supermicro develops application-optimized IT infrastructure solutions spanning enterprise, cloud, AI, storage, IoT, and 5G edge computing markets.
