Supermicro appointed Shesha Krishnapura as an independent member of its Board of Directors. Krishnapura brings 35 years of operational and technology experience from Intel.

His background includes high-performance computing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, semiconductor design, and energy-efficient computing.

Krishnapura most recently served as an Intel Fellow and Chief Technology Officer of Intel IT.

In that position, he helped set technology strategy, architecture, and engineering governance for computing environments supporting Intel’s semiconductor design and development operations.

During his Intel career, Krishnapura led the development of 25 disaggregated server designs.

He also helped transform Intel’s D2 FAB into a LEED Platinum-certified hyperscale data center with more than 112 megawatts of capacity and a power usage effectiveness rating of 1.06.

Krishnapura has co-developed and co-taught a graduate-level high-performance computing course at Stanford University since 2016.

He holds six granted patents and has authored nearly 100 publications and technical whitepapers.

The appointment comes as Judy Lin retires from Supermicro’s Board after serving since 2022.

Supermicro said Krishnapura’s infrastructure and computing experience will support the company as it expands its Data Center Building Block Solutions business.
