Swamp Club Raises $7 Million Seed Led By Amplify Partners And Launches Behavior-Centric AI Agent Platform

Swamp Club has raised $7 million in seed funding led by Amplify Partners and announced the general availability of Swamp, its platform for building AI agents using what the company calls behavior-centric design. Encoded Ventures and select angel investors also participated in the financing.

The San Francisco-based company is positioning Swamp as an alternative to traditional agent-centric AI architectures, where large language models repeatedly decide what applications should do next.

Swamp instead separates understanding from execution. Frontier AI models translate a developer’s intent into reusable behaviors with defined inputs and outputs, versioned data schemas, and isolated credential access. Those behaviors are then composed into deterministic workflows that call an LLM only when a particular step requires reasoning.

The company says this architecture can improve reliability while substantially reducing token consumption and execution costs. In a controlled comparison, a trip-planning agent built with LangChain used 24,611 input tokens, while a comparable implementation using Swamp used 1,183 input tokens, roughly 14 times fewer. Swamp said the resulting application also cost about one-sixth.

Swamp can connect with services, APIs, databases, enterprise applications, and infrastructure while maintaining a shared data layer across devices and teams. The platform manages credentials through encrypted vaults that agents cannot directly access, and it builds security, observability, and controls into the platform.

The company said adoption has accelerated since its first prototype launched in March 2026. Its community has created more than 1,500 extensions and published more than 100 independent write-ups describing projects built using Swamp. Use cases range from infrastructure automation and software development to lead scoring and biology experiment management.

Enterprise customers are also beginning to use the platform. Xero initially deployed Swamp for a marketing workflow before additional teams began building on the same platform. Bitbison CEO and Co-Founder Samy Al Bahra said the company used Swamp to launch a production SaaS platform in one day, rather than the weeks he estimated the work would otherwise have required.

Swamp Club says the broader opportunity is to help enterprises move AI agents from experimental projects into dependable production systems. The platform lets engineering teams build reusable organizational capabilities instead of maintaining separate agents and automation stacks for individual workflows.

KEY QUOTES:

“The industry has spent years consumed by developments from the frontier labs, with engineers furiously trying to harness them for practical ends. The results have too frequently been a failure. When the LLM controls what happens next, the system gets more fragile and more expensive with every capability you add. Existing frameworks compound the problem because they were built around that same agent-centric assumption. Swamp is built around a different one – use frontier intelligence to understand what someone wants, turn it into reusable behaviors, and then execute it as deterministic code that works every time. The result is reliable, auditable, and cost-effective AI systems that solve the real problems engineers face.”

Adam Jacob, Co-Founder and CEO of Swamp Club

“AI can now build almost anything. The hard part is trusting that code to be reliable and repeatable in production. Swamp lets developers ship agentic automation that works, not sometimes works. Deterministic, cost-effective AI is the biggest opportunity in venture, and the Swamp Club team are the best people in the world to make it happen. It’s no surprise that the Swamp movement is taking off.”

Sunil Dhaliwal, General Partner at Amplify Partners

“Our marketers know exactly who they want to reach, and they shouldn’t need a DevOps engineer to act on it. Swamp lets us give that control back to them, safely. They ask for what they need, AI works out what they mean, and Swamp carries it out within the guardrails we create. Work that used to take hours or days now takes minutes. We started with one prototype for marketing, and now other teams at Xero are building on the same platform.”

Adam Roberts, SVP Data Science, Analytics, and Insights at Xero

“I used Swamp to launch our production SaaS platform at Bitbison by simply describing the architecture we wanted, and letting Swamp build it all for me. What would have taken weeks of effort, we handled in a day and created a flexible system all of our engineers could work with. Swamp has saved me headcount by enabling our engineers to safely manage and extend our infrastructure within guardrails, not to mention all the time I got back.”
