Sylmar Group announced the acquisition of Tower Water, a leading provider of water treatment services in the New York metropolitan area. The transaction strengthens Sylmar’s presence in the Northeast and represents another step in the company’s effort to build a national platform focused on industrial water and wastewater treatment.
Following the acquisition, Tower Water will become part of the Sylmar Water Treatment family of companies, joining EAI Water, Clearwater Industries, R2J Chemical Services, Eastern Technologies Inc., Butler Chemical, and ProChem Water. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1992 by Russell Baskin and Noah Baskin, Tower Water has evolved from a two-person cooling tower cleaning business into one of the country’s leading water treatment companies. The company employs more than 50 people and has developed expertise in water treatment, Legionella management and mitigation, and the flushing and commissioning of new and refurbished piping systems.
Tower Water serves a broad range of customers, including commercial real estate owners, residential high-rise properties, healthcare organizations, pharmaceutical facilities, data centers, educational institutions, and industrial sites throughout New York City, New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and southern Connecticut.
Sylmar said the combination of Tower Water, Clearwater Industries, and Butler Chemical creates a particularly strong platform across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. The company believes the acquisition will enhance its ability to provide technical expertise and local customer service while benefiting from the scale and resources of the broader organization.
The acquisition supports Sylmar’s strategy of assembling a nationwide network of regional water treatment providers with strong technical capabilities and customer relationships. The company aims to establish itself as a leading industrial water company in the United States through a combination of organic growth and acquisitions.
According to the companies, Tower Water will continue operating with its customer-focused culture while gaining access to additional resources that can support future growth and expanded service capabilities.
