Syntec Optics Holdings announced it has received nearly $2.4 million in new purchase orders for a space optics product line that supports weekly launches of low Earth orbit satellites.

The latest award builds on a previously announced order of approximately $1.9 million received in the first quarter of 2026, bringing the total recent awards for the product line to nearly $4.3 million.

Syntec Optics said the orders support a product line that was scaled for higher production in the first quarter of 2026 and are expected to be fully delivered before the middle of next quarter.

The company noted that nearly 20,000 of its nanoscale-precision optics are already operating in low Earth orbit. These optics enable micro-targeted laser beams that facilitate high-speed data transfers between satellites, supporting global connectivity applications ranging from commercial cruise ships to transcontinental flights.

Syntec Optics said its optical technologies are positioned to benefit from the growth of orbital AI data centers and increasing demand for high-speed satellite communications infrastructure.

According to Goldman Sachs, nearly 30% of the world’s population still lacks internet access, and the satellite market could expand from $15 billion to $108 billion by 2035. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley projects the global space economy could reach $1 trillion by 2040.

KEY QUOTES:

“The future of space optics is poised to grow at an accelerated pace with the evolution of orbital AI data centers.”

“As these platforms begin handling massive data workloads right in orbit—relying on laser networks for high-speed syncing, solar arrays for power, and the vacuum of space for cooling—the need for ultra-precise optical infrastructure can accelerate.”

Matt Carey, Vice President of Business Development and Delivery at Syntec Optics

“The United States maintains a multi-year lead in global space technology, and the Syntec Optics team is thrilled to be a critical contributor to this expanding space economy over the next decade.”

“With nearly 20,000 of our ultra-precise optics orbiting the Earth, we are proud to support America’s leadership in space innovation.”
