System One has acquired Aucoin Telecom & Utility Construction, expanding the capabilities of its Mountain Ltd. telecommunications engineering services division into utility and telecommunications construction.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Aucoin is a regional infrastructure services company focused on the construction, maintenance and repair of critical utility infrastructure across energy and telecommunications markets.
Following the acquisition, Aucoin will work closely with Mountain Ltd., giving System One the ability to provide customers with a broader turnkey offering extending from engineering through construction.
Joe Aucoin, the company’s founder, will remain with the business as President of Aucoin Telecom & Utility Construction.
Founded in 2007 and headquartered in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, Aucoin has developed an operating footprint across New England and New York.
The company serves private- and public-sector customers and provides services across telecommunications and energy infrastructure.
Its capabilities include utility tower structural support, inspection and maintenance, aerial and underground construction, fiber splicing and testing, inside plant and structural cabling and generator installations.
System One sees the addition of construction capabilities as increasingly important as customers look for providers that can manage a larger portion of telecommunications infrastructure projects under a single relationship.
The combination is intended to pair Mountain’s telecommunications engineering capabilities with Aucoin’s construction and field-service expertise.
