T-Mobile announced that wireless industry veteran Chris Sambar will join the company as Chief Enterprise Officer, effective no later than October 14, 2026. Sambar will report to T-Mobile CEO Srini Gopalan and lead the company’s SMB, enterprise, and government businesses.
Sambar joins T-Mobile from Public Storage, where he serves as Chief Operating Officer. He previously spent two decades at AT&T, where his responsibilities included building the company’s 5G mobile network, developing corporate strategy, and leading enterprise sales.
During his tenure at AT&T, Sambar also helped design and deploy FirstNet, the nationwide public safety network. He also served as President, Network of AT&T, where he gained experience designing, engineering, and operating next-generation mobile and fiber networks.
T-Mobile said Sambar’s appointment is part of a broader evolution of its executive leadership team as the company advances its next phase of strategic growth. The leadership changes are tied to priorities outlined in T-Mobile’s February 2026 Capital Markets Update, including consumer wireless growth, expansion beyond core wireless, network innovation, and continued focus on the Un-carrier brand.
In his new role, Sambar will focus on expanding T-Mobile’s SMB and business customer portfolio. He will also help scale emerging growth opportunities, including T-Ads and Physical AI.
T-Mobile said the appointment supports its strategy to strengthen its presence in industries beyond core wireless. The company also plans to bring its customer-focused approach to the enterprise market as it seeks to redefine business connectivity and technology experiences.
Along with Sambar’s appointment, T-Mobile announced that André Almeida, currently Chief Broadband, Enterprise & Emerging Business Officer, has been appointed to an expanded role as Chief Marketing, Brand & Broadband Officer.
In that position, Almeida will partner with Chief Operating Officer Jon Freier to oversee T-Mobile’s consumer wireless and broadband businesses. His focus will include capturing new growth segments and continuing to drive customer growth.
T-Mobile also said its network, technology, product engineering, and cyber functions will be integrated under Dr. John Saw, the company’s Chief Technology Officer. This structure is intended to help T-Mobile advance seamless connected experiences for consumers and build the next generation of AI and 6G experiences.
The company also announced that Mike Katz, Chief Business & Product Officer, has decided to step away to pursue new professional interests. Katz will remain in a strategic advisory role through December 2026 to support a smooth transition.
Katz has spent more than 20 years at T-Mobile and played a key role in the company’s Un-carrier movement. Gopalan credited Katz with helping shape several of the company’s major growth initiatives and industry-changing moves.
T-Mobile said the leadership changes position the company to continue pursuing long-term growth and new customer offerings. The company is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, and provides services through its T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, and Mint Mobile brands.
