T-Mobile US has named Jessica Uhl as CFO Designate, with the former Shell CFO and GE Vernova President set to become the company’s Chief Financial Officer in February 2027.

Uhl will join T-Mobile in mid-September 2026 and work alongside current CFO Peter Osvaldik during an extended transition period.

After Uhl formally assumes the CFO role in February, Osvaldik will become a Strategic Advisor and remain with T-Mobile until his planned retirement on July 1, 2027.

The leadership change is part of T-Mobile’s long-term succession planning and follows Osvaldik’s previous one-year contract extension, which was intended to support the company’s CEO transition.

Uhl brings approximately 30 years of financial and strategic leadership experience across large global businesses.

She previously served as Chief Financial Officer of Shell, where she oversaw financial strategy, capital markets execution and investor relations for a company operating in more than 70 countries.

During her time at Shell, Uhl also worked across emerging businesses spanning infrastructure, commodity and consumer markets.

Most recently, she served as President of GE Vernova, overseeing corporate development, strategy, ventures, research and development and the company’s generative AI program.

T-Mobile said Uhl’s experience with large-scale capital allocation, business transformation, emerging technologies and new business development makes her well suited to support the company’s next phase of growth.

As CFO, Uhl is expected to play an important role in T-Mobile’s strategy across consumer wireless, broadband, T-Mobile for Business and newer adjacent markets.

The company is also focused on expanding its wireless presence in small markets and rural areas, while continuing to target customers who prioritize network quality.

Osvaldik joined T-Mobile in 2016 and has served as CFO since 2020.

During his tenure, he has overseen the company’s financial organization, capital markets relationships and broader financial strategy through a period of significant growth and transformation.

The extended handoff between Osvaldik and Uhl is intended to provide continuity across T-Mobile’s financial organization and investor relationships while preserving institutional knowledge.

T-Mobile said Osvaldik’s leadership has contributed to disciplined financial management and consistent financial performance while supporting the company’s broader growth strategy.

The CFO transition comes as T-Mobile continues to pursue growth beyond its traditional consumer wireless business.

The company sees additional opportunities in broadband, enterprise services and adjacent products while maintaining its focus on customer differentiation and network expansion.

T-Mobile also reaffirmed its previously announced 2026 financial guidance following the leadership announcement.

The company said its capital return program and long-term financial framework remain unchanged.
