T. Rowe Price is expanding its U.S. Intermediaries Wealth Management business, adding more than 50 client-facing positions while strengthening its leadership and specialist teams as the asset manager seeks to deepen relationships with financial advisors.
The expansion spans broker-dealer and registered investment advisor field sales as well as specialists focused on alternative investments, exchange-traded funds, and model portfolios. T. Rowe Price said the investment is designed to provide advisors with more targeted expertise as client needs and wealth management business models become increasingly complex.
The initiative also includes two new strategy-focused national account leadership positions within the wealth management channel. Kevin Johnson has joined T. Rowe Price as Head of Wealth Research, while Ryan Bauer has joined as Head of RIA Enterprise National Accounts. Both executives report to Annie Brown, Co-Head of Wealth Management within U.S. Intermediaries.
Johnson will lead T. Rowe Price’s wealth research strategy and oversee engagement with manager research and discretionary model teams regarding the firm’s investment strategies and capabilities. He will also work with research and model teams across distribution channels and platforms to develop additional relationships.
Johnson brings more than 30 years of financial services experience and most recently served as Head of Platform Distribution at Allspring Global Investments.
Bauer will oversee strategy development and execution across T. Rowe Price’s largest and most complex RIA relationships, including enterprise RIAs. He has more than 15 years of industry experience and spent the past 12 years in the asset management business of Deutsche Bank’s DWS Group.
His background includes distribution across RIA enterprises, outsourced chief investment officer relationships, independent broker-dealers, and banks.
Beyond the personnel expansion, T. Rowe Price is broadening the resources available to wealth advisors. These include tax-optimized drawdown strategies, Portfolio Construction Solutions, custom model portfolios, alternative investments, separately managed accounts, actively managed ETFs, practice management support, and research-driven investment insights.
The firm is positioning the expansion around advisors’ growing need for more customized solutions as they navigate concentrated equity markets, changing interest rates, and increasingly personalized client objectives.
T. Rowe Price managed approximately $1.90 trillion in client assets as of August 31, 2026, with roughly two-thirds of those assets related to retirement.
KEY QUOTE:
“Financial advisors are operating in a rapidly changing marketplace. They’re helping clients navigate more complex markets, extreme equity market concentration, and a dynamic interest rate environment, all against clients’ growing needs for more tailored wealth solutions. We’ve built strong momentum across our Wealth business in recent years, but we see opportunity to do more. By significantly expanding our field sales coverage, growing our leadership, and continuing to enhance the products, insights, and support services we bring to market, we are better positioned to help advisors solve for the challenges they and their clients face today.”
Kevin Collins, Head Of U.S. Intermediaries At T. Rowe Price
