TA Services has acquired the assets and operations of Carmen Pacheco Transportation and Interload Forwarding, expanding its U.S.-Mexico cross-border transportation, warehousing and logistics capabilities. TA Services is the non-asset flagship division of PS Logistics.
Carmen Pacheco Transportation and Interload Forwarding are family-owned logistics businesses serving customers across the U.S., Mexico and Canada.
The acquisition strengthens TA Services’ operations in El Paso and Laredo, Texas, two major gateways for U.S.-Mexico freight movements.
Together, CPT and ILF provide local and long-haul transportation, warehousing, cross-docking, freight consolidation and deconsolidation, brokerage and customs-related services.
The acquired platform includes trucking assets, five warehouses totaling more than 550,000 square feet and a truck yard spanning approximately 10 acres.
TA Services plans to integrate those resources with its existing cross-border logistics operations and broader North American transportation and warehousing capabilities.
CPT and ILF developed from a family enterprise founded by Richard Ibarra Sr.
The entire CPT and ILF team will remain involved following the transaction, along with members of the Ibarra family.
TA expects that continuity to help preserve the acquired companies’ customer relationships while providing access to a larger transportation network and additional logistics services.
The acquisition forms part of TA Services’ strategy to expand cross-border capabilities as manufacturers and other shippers increase freight activity throughout the U.S.-Mexico corridor.
KEY QUOTES:
“Cross-border performance depends on what happens on both sides of the border and at every handoff in between. CPT and ILF have developed their people, built exceptional facilities and demonstrated elite transportation capabilities to manage those handoffs for their customers. We are merging two similar cultures with a strong focus on the core values that drive success in our businesses. Bringing our teams together gives us a stronger foundation to serve manufacturers and other shippers moving freight through the U.S.–Mexico corridor. As the industrial economy continues to expand in 2026 and over the years to come, we are setting ourselves up to be a key partner to support this growth.”
Scott Schell, CEO of TA Services
“We built these companies by knowing our customers, keeping our word and taking care of the freight entrusted to us. We are excited to partner with TA. This gives our customers access to more markets and services, and it gives our employees a place to work and grow under a strong brand that shares our commitment to service.”
Richard Ibarra Sr., Founder of Carmen Pacheco Transportation And Interload Forwarding
