TabaPay has raised $155 million in strategic growth financing led by FTV Capital and announced plans to acquire Transact Bank, an OCC-chartered and FDIC-insured bank based in Denver.
The financing consists of a combination of primary capital for TabaPay and a secondary transaction.
Following completion of the planned acquisition, Transact Bank will be renamed TabaBank, N.A. and operate alongside TabaPay under TabaHoldings, a newly registered bank holding company.
The combination is intended to bring banking and payment infrastructure under a more vertically integrated platform while maintaining TabaPay’s existing relationships with its partner banks.
TabaPay operates money movement infrastructure for fintech companies, lenders and other platforms through a single API spanning card and bank payment rails.
The company said customers can reduce payment costs by as much as 75% through its platform.
TabaPay works with more than 20 partner banks across the U.S. and Canada, serves approximately one-third of U.S. households and expects to process more than $100 billion in payment volume during 2026.
The company also ranks as the fifth-largest card-not-present processor in the U.S. by transaction count.
Once operational, TabaBank is expected to support major money movement rails including RTP, FedNow, ACH and wire transfers, along with card sponsorship across Visa, Mastercard, Discover and regional networks.
TabaPay said the $155 million investment is also expected to position TabaBank to serve as an acquirer across all industries and major card networks.
The capital will also support TabaPay’s product roadmap, including merchant liquidity products and potential strategic acquisitions.
As part of the investment, Robert Anderson, Partner at FTV Capital, joined TabaPay’s Board of Directors.
The Transact Bank acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
FT Partners served as exclusive strategic and financial advisor, Reed Smith advised TabaPay, and Gibson Dunn & Crutcher advised FTV Capital.
