Talvy, a Cambridge, Massachusetts–based networking platform focused on video-first professional profiles, announced it has raised $2 million in seed funding. The round was led by Link Ventures and aims to support the company’s efforts to expand its platform and redefine how candidates present themselves during the hiring process.
The company’s platform replaces traditional resumes with short-form video profiles that allow job seekers to showcase their personality, communication style, and professional story. By capturing elements such as energy, mindset, and interpersonal presence, Talvy aims to provide hiring teams with insights that static resumes cannot convey.
Employers using the platform can search candidate profiles using natural language tools that surface shortlists of video submissions. This enables recruiters to evaluate candidates earlier in the hiring process and gauge cultural fit before scheduling interviews. Recruiters can also invite candidates from their own applicant pools to create Talvy profiles and review them within private groups.
The company developed the platform in response to an increasingly flooded hiring environment, where AI-generated resumes have made it more difficult for recruiters to identify standout candidates. Talvy’s founders say the platform is designed to restore a human layer to hiring by prioritizing authentic communication and personal presence.
Alongside the funding announcement, the company introduced Talvy Spotlight, a curated program that highlights candidates personally vetted and endorsed by Talvy’s team. Participants in the program are introduced directly to hiring managers within the company’s network and may be featured publicly, including on a Times Square billboard.
Talvy was founded by a team of MIT and Harvard alumni and is led by CEO and co-founder KJ Hardrict. The founding team also includes co-founder and CTO Yoeal Efrem, Product and GTM Lead Lisa Vo, ML Engineer Yaateh Richardson, and Chief of Staff Sebastian Esquivel.
KEY QUOTES:
“We built Talvy because we’ve been the candidate who got filtered out for the wrong reasons, and we’ve been the hiring manager drowning in AI-generated noise. There had to be a better way. Every job I’ve ever landed came from people seeing me – not reading about me.”
KJ Hardrict, CEO And Co-Founder Of Talvy
“We invested in Talvy because the hiring system is blind to real potential. The best leaders, builders, and operators don’t always stand out in a LinkedIn world. Talvy’s video profiles give job applicants a voice beyond their resume.”
Frazer Anderson, Managing Director At Link Ventures
