TE Connectivity announced that it has acquired a major portion of the e-mobility business of Phoenix Contact E-Mobility GmbH, specifically the segment responsible for manufacturing EV charging inlets. The transaction comes as Phoenix Contact exits the automotive sector and allows TE Connectivity to expand its position in the electric vehicle ecosystem.

The deal focuses on vehicle-side charging inlet components, a critical part of EV architecture, and is expected to strengthen TE Connectivity’s ability to serve global automotive OEM customers. The company indicated that the acquisition supports its broader strategy of delivering advanced connectivity solutions for next-generation vehicle platforms while maintaining supply continuity for existing programs.

TE Connectivity emphasized that the acquisition aligns with its long-term growth objectives in the e-mobility sector. By integrating the acquired assets, the company aims to enhance its product portfolio and respond more effectively to evolving customer requirements and competitive pressures in the market. The company also expects the acquired business to contribute to revenue in fiscal year 2026, with additional benefits in the years ahead.

The agreement reflects broader industry dynamics, including Phoenix Contact E-Mobility’s decision to withdraw from the automotive space. TE Connectivity noted that the move positions it to accelerate revenue growth and maintain stability for major OEM programs during a period of transition in the EV supply chain.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
