Teachy: Personalized Learning Company Raises $7 Million (Series A)

By Amit Chowdhry • Dec 3, 2024

Teachy announced that it has raised $7 million in a Series A funding round, one of the first AI-focused investments in LATAM, Asia, and Africa.

The funding round was led by Goodwater Capital, the world’s largest consumer tech-focused VC firm with partners known for investments in Monzo, Zepto, Weee!, Facebook, Spotify, and Twitter. And Reach Capital, the leading early-stage investor in learning, health and work, also participated in the round, along with existing investors Endeavor, NXTP, and Roble Ventures. This marks Goodwater and Reach Capital’s biggest investment in the Brazilian education sector.

Teachy is an AI-based workspace transforming how teachers find and create content, helping them save up to 80% of time on tasks like lesson planning and grading with curriculum-aligned, AI-customizable materials. Built for schools in Latin America and Asia, Teachy addresses challenges like local curriculum alignment and digital connectivity, enabling schools to digitalize and thrive in the age of AI.

Teachy was launched in 2022 by Pedro Siciliano, a former teacher and engineer with an MBA from Stanford University; and Fábio Baldissera, an engineer and serial entrepreneur. And since then, Teachy has grown rapidly to support 1 million teachers primarily in Latin America and Asia, and globally impacting over 10 million students in more than 170 countries.

This funding will enhance the product, drive growth, and support regional expansion by hiring engineers and designers to scale Teachy’s world-class platform.
