Teamworks, a sports technology company providing an operating system for elite teams, announced it has acquired the enterprise business of Pro Football Focus, significantly expanding its data and analytics capabilities in American football.
The deal brings PFF’s proprietary game data and analytics platform into Teamworks’ ecosystem, which already supports more than 7,000 sports organizations globally. PFF’s enterprise products are widely used across the football landscape, including every NFL team and more than 240 Division I college programs, giving Teamworks deeper access to performance data, player evaluations, and game insights.
With the acquisition, Teamworks aims to unify fragmented systems across football organizations by combining video, player tracking, and analytics into a single AI-powered platform. The company said this integration will help teams make faster and more informed decisions across coaching, scouting, and front office operations.
The addition of PFF follows a series of acquisitions by Teamworks, including Zelus Analytics, Telemetry Sports, and Sportlogiq, as it builds a vertically integrated sports intelligence platform. The company already serves 100% of NFL, NHL, and Premier League teams, along with the majority of organizations in MLB, NBA, MLS, and Division I athletics, as well as dozens of Olympic federations.
As part of the transaction, PFF’s enterprise business becomes part of Teamworks, while PFF’s consumer-facing products, including fantasy football, betting insights, and draft analysis, will remain independent. Cris Collinsworth will transition into an advisory role at Teamworks and remain a shareholder alongside other PFF investors.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. LionTree Advisors served as financial advisor to PFF.
KEY QUOTES:
“This is not just another acquisition. It’s a turning point for how football organizations operate. Fragmented systems have long frustrated teams and limited their ability to transform raw film and player tracking data into competitive insights. The addition of PFF enables us to deliver a vertically-integrated and AI-powered football platform so teams can make faster, confident decisions in the highest-stakes moments.”
Zach Maurides, CEO And Founder, Teamworks
“Winning football organizations have to excel both in the front office and on the field. Integrating PFF’s trusted game data with Teamworks’ AI-driven operating system gives football executives a single source for performance, game day strategy, personnel strategy, and long-term planning. That level of alignment across coaches, scouting, and executive leadership is not just exciting, but how championship organizations are built.”
Cris Collinsworth, CEO, Pro Football Focus And Advisor To Teamworks
“It’s not enough to simply create the connected infrastructure, the ‘plumbing’, for teams to operate. We need high-quality data and timely, accurate insights flowing through those pipes exactly where and when teams need it. With the addition of PFF, Teamworks delivers the most powerful intelligence platform for American football, and we’re positioned to do the same for other major sports across the globe.”
