TEDCO announced the promotions of Tammi Thomas to president and Geyssel Gonzalez to chief financial & technology officer as the organization continues expanding its role in Maryland’s innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The appointments were made by TEDCO CEO Troy LeMaile-Stovall, who cited both executives’ leadership, strategic vision and long-term contributions to the organization’s growth and statewide impact.
Thomas joined TEDCO nearly a decade ago as chief marketing officer and has since led the organization’s integrated marketing, communications, investor engagement and fundraising strategies. Her leadership helped support an increase in state funding of more than 50%, secure more than $75 million in federal grant funding, contribute to a more than 33% increase in assets under management and support the attraction of more than $55 million in foreign direct investment into Maryland’s innovation ecosystem.
Under Thomas’ leadership, TEDCO also expanded its annual Entrepreneur Expo, which now convenes more than 1,000 entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and industry leaders annually. She additionally helped drive international collaboration initiatives involving Taiwan, South Korea and the Kingdom of Jordan, including a recently announced agreement enabling $50 million in foreign direct investment into Maryland through TAIIDA and SFIC Group.
In her new role as president, Thomas will focus on strengthening cross-sector partnerships, expanding innovation-driven economic development initiatives, increasing global engagement opportunities and further building Maryland’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Thomas has also received several industry recognitions, including being named one of The Daily Record’s 2026 Top 100 Women, a Waves of Change Impact Award honoree and one of I-95 Business Magazine’s 2025 Influential Women. She also serves on the World Trade Center Institute’s CEO Council, Maryland Momentum Fund Advisory Board and MEDA Board of Directors, where she currently serves as president.
Gonzalez’s promotion to chief financial & technology officer follows her progression through multiple leadership roles at TEDCO after initially joining the organization as controller. Most recently, she served as deputy chief financial and operating officer.
During her tenure, Gonzalez helped oversee financial operations supporting more than $200 million in assets under management while leading initiatives focused on operational optimization, financial transparency and long-term scalability. TEDCO noted that her leadership contributed to strengthening the organization’s operational infrastructure as it expanded statewide impact, generating more than $2.7 billion in economic activity across Maryland as of 2023.
In her expanded role, Gonzalez will continue overseeing TEDCO’s financial and technology strategy while supporting the organization’s long-term sustainability and operational growth initiatives.
Gonzalez was recently recognized by The Daily Record as one of Maryland’s Leading Women Under 40.
