Temple Digital Group has secured $5 million in seed funding to develop a privacy-focused trading platform for digital assets, built on the Canton Network —a blockchain infrastructure designed for institutional-grade financial markets. The round was led by Paper Ventures, with additional participation from YZi, CMT Digital, Sfermion, Halo Capital, Protagonist, 5N Canton, Eterna Capital, AMA, GSR, Selini, Presto, and G20.
The company’s platform will leverage Canton’s privacy-preserving architecture to offer 24/7 digital asset trading with built-in compliance, instant settlement, and connectivity to the broader blockchain ecosystem. By combining the reliability of traditional electronic trading systems—including automated order routing, post-trade reporting, and all-to-all liquidity—with blockchain innovations such as tokenization and non-custodial wallets, Temple aims to deliver a next-generation trading experience that bridges institutional finance and decentralized technologies.
With the fresh capital, Temple plans to expand its product suite to support additional assets, financial instruments, and cross-network integrations, strengthening its position as a key technology provider for regulated capital markets in the blockchain era.
The Canton Network, developed by Digital Asset, has already gained traction among leading global institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Broadridge, and BNP Paribas, which collectively generate trillions in monthly transaction volume through Canton-based products. The network’s privacy and compliance capabilities are designed to meet institutional requirements that traditional public blockchains like Ethereum and Solana cannot natively achieve.
Temple’s leadership team, Evan Varsamis (CEO) and Dan Simerman (CSO), bring deep expertise in digital asset infrastructure, trading technology, and decentralized finance. Together, they view Canton as the foundation for a new financial system where open institutional participation drives innovation and accessibility.
KEY QUOTE:
“We see an incredible opportunity to develop new financial primitives with and for large institutions ready to participate in digital asset markets. We want Temple to be a core trading engine for use cases that have traditionally been inaccessible on decentralized networks.”
