Tenna Systems, a defense technology company focused on software-driven spectrum intelligence, said it has raised an oversubscribed $13.5 million seed funding round to accelerate expansion in the U.S. defense market, where it said it has already partnered with government agencies and prime contractors to deliver hardware-free spectrum intelligence for wireless-dependent systems at global scale.
The round was led by Costanoa with participation from Viola Ventures, Fresh Fund and 202 Ventures, alongside existing investors. Tenna said the platform transforms existing sensors into a unified, real-time map of the electromagnetic spectrum, turning assets such as aircraft, drones, satellites, ships and mobile devices into live sensors to provide actionable warnings about radio frequency interference, including jamming and spoofing.
Tenna said its system can pinpoint interference within 50 to 200 meters and provide mission-ready resilience for defense, aerospace and mobility systems without additional hardware. The company said it offers three products spanning real-time electronic connectivity needs: Arena for monitoring coverage gaps and interference, Tracer for locating interference sources and enabling targeting mitigation, and Halo embedded software intended to provide operational continuity and RF resilience.
Tenna said it was founded by twin brothers Avner and Gabriel Bendheim, who previously led signals intelligence and electronic warfare programs and designed the company’s approach as a scalable, software-based alternative to hardware-heavy systems. Tenna said it is engaged with the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force and other federal defense agencies to advance spectrum intelligence capabilities and has operational deployments with electronic warfare and signals intelligence units in allied defense forces. The company said it plans to more than double headcount over the next 12 months.
KEY QUOTES
“Much like AccuWeather but for electronic warfare, our software transforms the blizzard of sensor data into a real-time map of Radio Frequency (RF) domains. This gives our partners a ground truth in navigating the electromagnetic spectrum. Agility is everything in the evolving world of the electromagnetic spectrum. While traditional solutions demand costly infrastructure rollouts and custom sensors, we provide a hardware-free solution that is as essential as any other mission-critical tool.”
Avner Bendheim, Co Founder And Chief Executive Officer, Tenna Systems
“Tenna’s founding team brings a rare mix of operational, technical, and commercial expertise. We believe Tenna is advancing a new era of spectrum intelligence to protect connectivity across all domains. It has the power to transform how defense partners secure wireless systems, ensuring readiness and resilience on a global scale.”
