Terramed Real Estate Solutions, a real estate group focused on healthcare properties across veterinary, ophthalmology, and fertility sectors, announced it has completed the $9.27 million acquisition of the Palm Beach Equine Clinic property in Wellington, Florida. The deal adds one of the world’s most prominent sport-horse veterinary hospitals to Terramed’s growing portfolio.
The acquired property consists of a three-building complex totaling 15,719 square feet on a 1.4-acre site located about 10 miles southwest of Palm Beach International Airport. The facility sits within riding distance of Wellington International, which hosts major events including the Winter Equestrian Festival and the Global Dressage Festival, as well as the National Polo Center, home to the U.S. Open Polo Championship.
The clinic itself has built a global reputation over more than four decades and operates as a full-service equine hospital. The facility includes a surgical center, advanced imaging capabilities such as MRI and CT, nuclear scintigraphy, an on-site laboratory and pharmacy, more than 20 recovery stalls, and a USDA-approved isolation unit. It is also designed to accommodate large trucks and horse trailers, supporting high-level equine operations.
Founded in 1981 by Dr. Paul Wollenman and now led by President Dr. Scott Swerdlin, Palm Beach Equine Clinic employs more than 35 veterinarians and provides a wide range of services. These include emergency care, surgery, diagnostic imaging, dentistry, podiatry, radiology, sports medicine, regenerative medicine, reproduction, and alternative therapies. The clinic serves a diverse clientele ranging from Olympic-level competition horses to recreational animals and has operated continuously, 24 hours a day, year-round since its founding.
The acquisition represents Terramed’s fifth veterinary property focused on equine care and reflects its strategy of investing in specialized healthcare real estate tied to strong operators and durable market demand. Wellington’s position as a global hub for equestrian sports, combined with its concentration of elite horses and year-round competitions, makes it a particularly attractive market for advanced veterinary services.
Terramed continues to expand its national footprint, now owning and managing more than 1.7 million square feet of healthcare real estate. Recent acquisitions include properties in Appleton, Wisconsin; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and Tacoma, Washington.
The company provides flexible real estate solutions including sale-leasebacks, joint ventures, and renovation and expansion programs, helping healthcare operators unlock capital while maintaining operational focus.
