TerraVest Industries announced it has acquired KBK Industries, LLC, a Texas-based manufacturer of fiberglass and steel storage tanks, expanding TerraVest’s footprint in the U.S. tank market and adding manufacturing capacity in both Texas and Kansas.
KBK, which is headquartered in Houston and operates manufacturing facilities in Rush Center and Liberal, Kansas, produces aboveground and underground fiberglass tanks serving convenience-store, agricultural, chemical, infrastructure, and energy end markets. TerraVest said the deal strengthens its tank platform by complementing its existing aboveground fiberglass tank operations in Canada and its Composite USA fiberglass tank business in Maryland, which it acquired in January 2025.
Under the terms of the transaction, TerraVest paid US$90.0 million in cash, subject to a working capital adjustment to be finalized roughly 90 days after closing. The company said the purchase price equates to about 5.6x KBK’s trailing twelve-month EBITDA (after rent expense).
TerraVest expects the addition of KBK to provide additional channel opportunities—particularly by leveraging relationships in the convenience-store segment—and to add geographic diversification that helps mitigate tariff exposure across its broader platform. The company funded the acquisition using its existing credit facility.
KEY QUOTES:
“KBK is a strong strategic fit for TerraVest, and in combination with Highland Tank and other TerraVest businesses, TerraVest now has the potential to provide the broadest product offering across the fiberglass and steel tank markets. The addition of KBK to the TerraVest portfolio will be beneficial to the existing customer base of both KBK and TerraVest, providing them with enhanced optionality in the industry.”
John Jacob, President of Highland Tank Holdings
