Tesla Robotaxi is now available in Miami as the company expands its autonomous ride-hailing operations beyond Texas. Tesla’s official Robotaxi support page now lists service in limited areas of Miami, Florida, along with Austin, Dallas, and Houston, Texas.
The Miami launch highlights Tesla’s push to increase adoption of its self-driving software and build a broader autonomous ride-hailing network. The expansion also comes as the robotaxi sector gains momentum, with competitors including Waymo and Zoox pursuing broader autonomous mobility deployments.
Tesla’s Robotaxi service currently operates in limited service areas, and riders can see the available service map through the Robotaxi app when entering a destination. The service currently operates during defined hours, and availability may vary by location and service area.
The Robotaxi fleet initially consists of Model Y vehicles. Tesla says riders are not allowed to sit in the front-left seat, which is typically the driver’s seating position.
Ride pricing is shown in the Robotaxi app before a rider confirms a trip. Tesla says its introductory program uses a simple rate plus applicable taxes and fees for rides within the available service area, though pricing remains subject to change.
Tesla says riders can adjust climate settings, seat position, and entertainment features through the Robotaxi app or vehicle touchscreen. Passenger preferences, including climate and media settings, can be saved to a rider profile and carried over between trips.
The Miami rollout follows Tesla’s launch of robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, in June. Tesla had also previously announced plans to expand the offering to Dallas and Houston.
Tesla’s Miami availability is part of CEO Elon Musk’s broader push to position the company around artificial intelligence, robotics, and autonomous driving. The launch gives Tesla another major U.S. market for testing and expanding its ride-hailing ambitions.
Miami now joins the growing list of cities where autonomous mobility companies are competing to define the future of urban transportation. For Tesla, the launch represents another step toward building a larger robotaxi network around its vehicle fleet and self-driving technology.
