The Commission has named Margaret Brown as its 2026 Board Chair as the professional credentialing organization advances its certification, continuing education and workforce development programs. Brown is Senior Director of Care Management at Priority Health and has held the Certified Case Manager credential since 2014.
Formerly known as the Commission for Case Manager Certification, The Commission supports more than 50,000 board-certified professionals across case management, disability management and other client advocacy disciplines. The organization has operated in professional credentialing for more than 30 years.
The Commission’s volunteer-led board provides strategic oversight for its certification programs, professional standards and long-term direction. Its members represent a range of healthcare, social work, disability management, education and client advocacy backgrounds.
Brown will lead the board as The Commission seeks to demonstrate the value of certification to practitioners, employers and the people receiving care and support. The organization is also focused on engaging the next generation of professionals and preparing its credential holders for changing healthcare systems, workforce demands and care models.
Jessica Arcoraci, an RN Clinical Auditor and Quality Specialist at MedStar Health, was named Chair-Elect. Carla Kimble, a Care Coordinator and Social Worker at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, will serve as Secretary.
Richard Ginnetti, an Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, was named Treasurer and Public Member. Patricia Nunez, who is retired, will serve as Immediate Past-Chair.
The Commission also added three board members. Nanesha Courtney is National Product Manager for Advocacy, Disability and Return-to-Work Services at Broadspire, while Brandy Davis-Holmes is Associate Director of Utilization Management Governance at Humana.
Tonique Hale, Director of Case Management at Encompass Health, also joined the board. The new members will help oversee certification quality, ethical standards and professional development opportunities across different practice settings.
The Commission additionally announced that MaryBeth Kurland will transition from her position as CEO after nine years. The organization said its existing programs, services and strategic priorities will continue without interruption.
During Kurland’s tenure, The Commission strengthened its operating foundation and expanded its role in professional certification. She led the organization through changes affecting healthcare, credentialing and workforce development.
