The Generation Essentials Group reported a profit of $22.8 million for the first half of 2026, compared with $2.1 million during the same period a year earlier, as the company expanded its global hospitality portfolio.
Revenue from contracts with customers increased 35.8% to $30.8 million, driven in large part by a 59.8% increase in revenue from hotel operations, hospitality and VIP services. Earnings per share increased to $0.56 from $0.12.
Total reported revenue, which also includes dividend income, gains and fair-value changes on financial assets, was $65.9 million for the six months ended June 30, down from $87.4 million in the comparable 2025 period. The decrease primarily reflected lower unrealized gains on the company’s investment portfolio.
Hotel operations, hospitality and VIP services generated $20.2 million in revenue, compared with $12.7 million a year earlier.
During the first half, TGE expanded its hospitality portfolio with acquisitions in four major international markets. The company acquired the 205-room Ritz-Carlton Perth for A$100 million, the 151-room New York Tribeca Hotel for $69 million, the 129-room Upper View Regalia Hotel in Malaysia for $38 million and the Dao by Dorsett Hornsey Hotel in London for $30 million.
The company also continued expanding its L’Officiel brand through new publishing initiatives and hospitality concepts, including the opening of its second L’Officiel Coffee and Bar in Macao after the launch of its first location in Omotesando, Japan.
Total assets increased 23.3% during the first half to approximately $1.8 billion, while total equity increased to $932.5 million from $839.1 million at the end of 2025. Property, plant and equipment increased by $384 million to $980.1 million, primarily reflecting the four hotel acquisitions.
Total borrowings increased to $310.2 million from $259.1 million. TGE ended June with approximately $10 million in cash and bank balances.
The company’s board did not declare an interim dividend, citing its continued priority of deploying capital toward global expansion.
