An investor group led by One Step Up CEO Harry Adjmi has acquired The Limited, bringing the longtime American women’s fashion brand into a portfolio that also includes New York & Company, Fashion to Figure and Hard Tail. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

The investor group is led by Adjmi alongside Eli Yedid and Ames Tebele and focuses on acquiring and growing established consumer brands with significant brand recognition and long-term potential.

The Limited was founded in 1963 and became one of the defining names in American mall retail.

The brand built its identity around sophisticated but accessible women’s apparel, particularly tailored separates, coordinated collections and clothing for professional and everyday use.

The new owners plan to retain that heritage while updating the brand for a new generation of consumers.

That strategy is expected to combine The Limited’s existing brand recognition with contemporary design, higher product quality and a more digitally connected customer experience.

The acquisition fits into Adjmi’s broader strategy of acquiring brands with significant consumer equity and repositioning them for renewed growth.

The investor group’s existing portfolio gives it experience across women’s fashion, specialty apparel and brand development.

Further details regarding The Limited’s future product assortment, distribution strategy and upcoming launches are expected to be announced in the coming months.

The investor group said its approach combines brand stewardship, product development, operating expertise and modern distribution to bring established labels to new generations of consumers.

KEY QUOTES:
