The Perfect Purée Of Napa Valley: Acquisition Of Strongwater Expands Craft Beverage And Functional Offerings

By Amit Chowdhry • May 23, 2026

The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley announced the acquisition of Colorado-based Strongwater, a producer of award-winning bitters, mixers, botanical beverages, and functional drinks. The move expands The Perfect Purée’s portfolio of premium beverage and culinary ingredients while strengthening its position in the craft beverage market.

Founded in Napa Valley, The Perfect Purée is known for its premium fruit products used by culinary and beverage professionals across restaurants, bars, hotels, bakeries, breweries, and manufacturing operations throughout North America. The acquisition aligns with the company’s strategy of investing in innovative ingredients and elevated beverage experiences for operators and consumers nationwide.

Strongwater will continue manufacturing its products in Colorado following the acquisition. The company has built a reputation for its globally inspired flavors and artisan approach to beverage development, including bitters, sparkling tonics, mixers, and spirit-free beverages designed to enhance cocktail and non-alcoholic drink programs.

Strongwater was founded by Nick Andresen, a former chemist who launched the company with a mission to “obliterate boring flavors.” Inspired by his Norwegian and Korean heritage, Andresen combined Scandinavian folk medicine traditions with Asian herbal tonic influences to create a portfolio of craft beverage products. Bartender Kyle West serves as the company’s beverage engineer, helping develop Strongwater’s lineup of “potions,” while Alex Kayir leads sales operations.

The company’s products, including Grapefruit Soda, Black Walnut Bitters, and Spicy Bonfire Bitters, have received recognition through Bartender Spirit Awards, SIP Awards, and Good Food Awards.

The Perfect Purée plans to leverage its established foodservice and hospitality distribution network to accelerate Strongwater’s expansion into bars, restaurants, hotels, and specialty retail channels across the United States.

The two brands will jointly showcase their products during Bar Convent Brooklyn on June 9–10 at Industry City in Brooklyn, New York, where Strongwater beverages and mixers will be featured alongside The Perfect Purée’s ingredients in cocktails and spirit-free drink offerings.

KEY QUOTES:

“What immediately drew us to Strongwater was the like-minded approach and variety of products crafted by craftsmen. Much like The Perfect Purée of Napa Valley became the secret ingredient behind some of the world’s best cocktail and culinary programs, Strongwater has developed products that operators rely on to elevate flavor, creativity and guest experience. We saw an incredible opportunity to bring that innovation to a broader national platform.”
