The Trade Desk announced the appointment of Sarah Gavin as Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President. Gavin will join the company on June 15 and report directly to founder and CEO Jeff Green from the company’s Bellevue office.

In her new role, Gavin will oversee The Trade Desk’s global marketing organization, including brand, communications, customer marketing, and demand generation efforts. The company said she will help strengthen its market presence and advance its vision for the open internet.

Gavin most recently served as Chief Communications Officer and Interim Chief Marketing Officer at Zendesk, where she helped guide the company’s transition into an AI-powered customer service provider. Before Zendesk, she led global narrative strategy at Google Cloud during the emergence of generative AI. She also spent more than a decade at Expedia Group, where she held senior communications and brand leadership positions and helped steer the company through a period of significant growth.

The appointment follows the recent hiring of Chief Financial Officer Nate Olmstead and reflects The Trade Desk’s continued investment in senior leadership. Anna Sayre, who served as Interim Chief Marketing Officer, will return to her previous role as Senior Vice President of Global Brand Marketing.
