The Wing is a work and community space company focused on women that has raised $75 million in Series C funding. This round of funding was led by Sequoia Capital. Upfront Ventures, Airbnb, New Enterprise Associates, WeWork, producer Katie McGrath, actress Kerry Washington, former White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, lawyer Robbie Kaplan, and political consultant Hilary Rosen also participated in this round. And athletes Alex Morgan, Megan Rapinoe, Meghan Klingenberg and Becky Sauerbrunn also joined the round.

In conjunction with this funding round, Sequoia partner and Upfront partner Kara Nortman has joined The Wing’s board. Lee and Nortman are known as being founding members of All Raise — which is a coalition of women dedicated to increasing access for women, minority founders, and investors in Silicon Valley.

“The Wing’s mission is the advancement of women through community, and we could not be more excited to partner with such a powerful community of women who lead their fields in tech, Hollywood, policy, and sports. This round is proof positive that women can be on both sides of the table,” said The Wing co-founder and CEO Audrey Gelman. “This investment will enable us to further The Wing’s mission and scale to new heights both offline and online.”

With this round of funding, The Wing raised a total of $117.5 million since being founded two years ago. Now The Wing has more than 6,000 members in multiple cities. And the company is going to open new locations in Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, London, Toronto, and Paris in 2019.

“The Wing is more than a company, it’s a phenomenon. Every Wing location is its own extraordinary community of women who help each other achieve new heights, professionally and personally,” added Lee. “We’re excited to partner with The Wing on growing its footprint globally in the physical realm and into the digital realm. “

The Wing also launched a magazine and podcast called No Man’s Land. And the company hosts dozens of events each week at its locations, which have hosted speakers including Jennifer Lawrence, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Tina Fey, Tarana Burke, Maggie Haberman, Stacey Abrams, Jennifer Lopez, Janet Mock, Cynthia Nixon, Hillary Clinton, Fran Drescher, Christiane Amanpour, and Venus Williams.
