The Zebra: $38.5 Million Funding And Over $60 Million ARR

  • Austin, Texas-based insurance comparison company The Zebra announced it raised $38.5 million in Series C funding. And it is also hitting a $60 million annual run rate now.

Austin, Texas-based Insurance comparison company The Zebra announced it has raised $38.5 million in Series C funding led by Accel. Weatherford Capital and other current investors Silverton Partners, Daher Capital, Floodgate Fund, Ballast Point Ventures, and The Zebra’s CEO Keith Melnick also joined the round.

The Zebra is considered nation’s largest insurance comparison site with over 1.3 million website visitors per month. And The Zebra’s revenue has seen very strong growth.

Specifically, The Zebra’s revenue grew nearly 200% year-over-year to nearly $37 million in 2019. And its annual run rate is now exceeding $60 million, of which more than half is driven by users coming organically to The Zebra’s website. Plus the company’s revenue is expected to grow well over 100% in 2020.
