Thermogenics has acquired Halmar Boiler Parts, adding one of the industry’s larger aftermarket boiler parts inventories and a Louisville, Kentucky manufacturing and distribution operation to its North American boiler services platform.
Founded in 1950, Halmar manufactures and distributes OEM and aftermarket replacement parts for mission-critical boiler systems.
Its products include refractory materials, gaskets, burner and combustion components, controls, and other replacement parts used by boiler service companies throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The acquisition expands Thermogenics’ ability to manufacture, stock, and distribute boiler components while giving its customers access to Halmar’s large ready-to-ship inventory.
Halmar also offers same-day shipping on in-stock products, an important capability in an industry where equipment downtime can create significant operational problems for industrial, commercial, and institutional customers.
The company’s Louisville facility adds another manufacturing and distribution location to Thermogenics’ expanding North American footprint.
Halmar manufactures refractory products internally and has accumulated decades of experience supplying parts for boiler systems across a variety of manufacturers and configurations.
Thermogenics sees the acquisition as complementary to its broader Boiler Lifecycle Solutions strategy.
The company provides maintenance and repair services, equipment sales, and rental boilers for customers operating mission-critical steam and heating systems.
Adding Halmar expands the parts component of that lifecycle offering and could enable Thermogenics to respond more quickly when customers require replacement components.
The combination also creates opportunities to connect Halmar’s inventory and manufacturing capabilities with Thermogenics’ service technicians, equipment operations, and existing customer relationships.
Thermogenics operates across North America with locations in Ohio, Florida, Iowa, Connecticut, North Carolina, Arizona, Nevada, Kentucky, New Jersey, Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
The company also provides 24/7 support from factory-trained technicians and operates a boiler rental business designed to help customers maintain operations during equipment failures, maintenance projects, and temporary capacity requirements.
Halmar will continue operating under its existing name as part of the Thermogenics group.
The company’s Louisville team and existing processes will also remain in place.
Thermogenics plans to provide additional resources for investment in Halmar’s inventory, technology, employees, and broader operating capabilities.
