Thoma Bravo: WWEX Group Acquisition To Create Global Logistics Technology Platform With Auctane

By Amit Chowdhry ● Mar 3, 2026

Thoma Bravo announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire WWEX Group, a third-party logistics provider of parcel and freight services, and to combine it with its existing portfolio company, Auctane, to form a global logistics and shipping technology platform.

WWEX Group operates a family of brands, including Worldwide Express, GlobalTranz, Unishippers, JEAR Logistics, and BLX Logistics, serving more than 130,000 customers nationwide and moving over 70 million shipments annually. In 2025, the company reported annual systemwide revenue of approximately $5 billion. The acquisition will see Thoma Bravo purchase WWEX Group from a consortium of investors, including CVC Capital Partners Fund VIII, Providence Equity Partners, Ridgemont Equity Partners, and PSG. As part of the transaction, CVC Funds and other existing WWEX Group investors will roll over a portion of their equity and retain a significant minority position in the combined company.

Following the close of the transaction, Thoma Bravo plans to combine WWEX Group with Auctane, a global shipping software provider whose brands include ShipStation, Stamps.com, Packlink, ShippingEasy, ShipWorks, Endicia, GlobalPost and Metapack. The combined company is expected to become one of the largest and most diversified logistics and shipping technology platforms, integrating Auctane’s cloud-based software and global carrier connectivity with WWEX Group’s parcel, less than truckload, truckload, and freight brokerage capabilities.

The combined platform aims to deliver AI-enabled, end-to-end logistics solutions spanning checkout to doorstep, offering unified data visibility, expanded carrier access, and decision support tools to help businesses optimize costs and scale across the logistics value chain.

The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
