Throne Labs, a leading innovative infrastructure company operating the largest network of connected public restrooms in the United States, announced the initial close of its $15 million Series B funding round. The investment, led by Brentwood Associates with participation from Uncorrelated Ventures, Dipalo Ventures, Rabil Ventures, and Arpinine Management, will support the company’s rapid national expansion following strong adoption in major metropolitan areas, including Washington, D.C., the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and Michigan. Additional capacity for new investors remains open ahead of the final close.
There are very few public restrooms in proportion to the population. To address this, Throne Labs has built a growing network of smart, standalone restrooms that combine technology, cleanliness, and accessibility to restore dignity and convenience in public spaces. Each Throne unit is fully ADA-compliant and equipped with running water sinks, flushing toilets, baby changing stations, and free menstrual products.
Beyond comfort and accessibility, each Throne unit is powered by advanced technology. Outfitted with 21 sensors, the restrooms continuously collect data on usage, cleanliness, and maintenance. This enables Throne’s service teams to deploy on-demand cleaning and servicing based on real-time needs, ensuring consistently clean and well-maintained facilities.
The Series B funding will enable Throne to expand its footprint from four regions and 20 cities to a broader nationwide presence. Its units already serve public parks, transit hubs, waterfronts, business districts, and event venues where traditional restroom infrastructure is costly or infeasible to maintain.
Throne’s model has gained the trust of leading transit agencies, including AC Transit, VTA, Caltrain, the Orange County Transportation Authority, and LA Metro. The company is currently executing a 64-unit, four-year contract with LA Metro, supporting access to safe and clean restrooms for riders and staff ahead of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
By combining hardware, data, and service innovation, Throne Labs is redefining what public infrastructure can be. Its technology-driven model enables cities and agencies to deploy flexible, reliable, and cost-efficient restroom solutions that improve urban livability and enhance community well-being.
